Lincoln Hall Study Abroad Greece Trip 2008

The Greek Odyssey trip will include traveling to Athens,Kalambaka, Delphi, Olympia, and Nauplia with aditional sightseeing in Meteora,and Epidauraus. Below are the excursions we have chosen to add! Breakfast, transportation, tickets to events and places and tour guides are included. What’s not included is tips for tour guides (not optional, and meals not listed. Some meals will try to be added.

The Study Abroad Trip will be a 4 credit hour course that is taken one day a week in the Spring Semester 2008. This course is taught by a faculty member in the Philosophy and Humanities department (Caleb Winters). Dr. Ted Vehse, Resident Faculty Leader, and Buffy Vehse, Asst. Director of the Undergraduate Advising Center and Asst. Resident Faculty Leader of Lincoln Hall, and Alicia Moore, Residential College Community Coordinator will also be helping with the Study Abroad Trip. The Lincoln Hall study abroad trip is always successful. We hope that you take advantage of this life-long learning experience.

Greek Show
Your 20 minute coach drive takes you to an authentic Greek night club, situated in Pireaus. This nightspot provides excellent food and service, with non stop entertainment including traditional dances in costumes (you will be invited to join in), live orchestra and singers. The show finishes at 11:30 p.m. when you return to your hotel by coach.

Aegean Cruise
Visit three Greek islands and enjoy lunch on board your modern cruise ship with sundecks, bars, and a shop. Visit the Saronic islands of Aegina, the largest Poros and Hydra. On Hydra there are no cars, the only means of transportation is by donkey.
Approximate value: EUR €78 per person

Cape Sounion
Leave Athens, following the beautiful coastal road past the Athenians’ favorite summer resorts to Cape Sounion. Visit the famous Temple of Poseidon, god of the sea. From the summit you’ll enjoy a wonderful view of the Saronic Islands.
Approximate value: EUR €32 per person

A Taste Of Athens
First by coach into the centre of Athens where you will pick up the “train” which will take you at a leisurely pace for about 20 minutes around the old part of Athens, the “Plaka” – a good way to get a first impression of the layout, shops and points of interest. Re-board your coach to continue to a Taverna for a Greek feast with unlimited local wine. On the way back to the hotel view the illuminated Acropolis.
